Change Your Photo to Black and White or Sepia

If you want a really great black and white or sepia toned picture with lots of depth in "coloring", we would recommend you use Lightroom or an specific action for it in Photoshop.  But if you want something quick that still looks good, you can do it easily in Photoshop and even easier in Picasa.

If you're using Picasa, double click on your photo and then click on the paint brush at the top left hand of your screen.  Choose either the black and white option or the sepia option.  Export the photo to save it.

If you are using Photoshop and want your color photo black and white:

1.  Open the image in Photoshop.
2.  Go to Image  > Adjust > Desaturate

Or you can just press Shift/Ctrl/U

To turn your color photo to sepia:

1.  Open the image in Photoshop.
2.  Go to Image  > Adjust > Desaturate
3.  Go to Image > Adjust > Variations
4.  Move the Fine<-->Coarse slider down one notch less than the middle.
5.  Click on More Yellow once.
6.  Click on More Red once.
7.  Click OK.

Another way is to press Ctrl/U, click the "colorize" box and change the Hue number to 40.
