Drop Shadows

It's almost always better to use a drop shadow on photos and embellishments and titles, even if it's just a subtle one. It adds dimension to your page by making the elements "pop" off the page. You'll find your drop shadow option to the right of your Photoshop Elements screen, under artwork and effects>special effects>layer styles>drop shadows. Most often, I use the low or soft edge shadow. To get rid of the shadow after you've added it, double click on the little star icon on the layer box of the layer you added the shadow to and unclick the box titled "drop shadow".
